Background
Our client, Greenlandic Broadcasting Corporation (KNR), is the official TV and Radio Broadcasting agency of Greenland. Their website www.knr.gl was originally in TYPO3 (now available at: http://typo3.knr.codespry.com/).
Having closely worked with both TYPO3 and Drupal, we recommended the client to move to OpenPublish (Drupal). Nearly 60,000 news stories and 12000 photographs had to be migrated from tt_news and smooth_gallery extensions of TYPO3. Migration was done incrementally while the site was being built to ensure an immediate switch over from the live TYPO3 website to the Drupal one.
The wireframes and concepts for the new website were also done by Srijan with the help of our excellent design and strategy partnerships.
The detailed case study is available at: http://www.srijan.in/blog/typo3-drupal-migration-knr-case-study.
Our previous site was a large Typo3 site with a huge amount of news articles, video and audio files. With the professional help from Srijan we migrated this to a Drupal site utilizing the OpenPublish distribution. The process was nerve racking because – as always – the deadline was extremely short and there was a considerable amount of public interest and attention around the release of the new site.
In retrospect, there were things that could have been done different but all in all, the partnership with Srijan was a perfect choice. I don’t believe it’s possible to find another business partner with the same amount of responsiveness and dedication. The same goes for the support team who respond promptly and effectively solves support issues to our satisfaction.
To our great satisfaction we got our new site live almost on time – with at deadline that short it was expected to get a bit delayed – this was mainly due to the big time difference between Greenland and India –with a difference of 8,5 hours it can be difficult to keep momentum throughout the project. But again the cooperation between us and Srijan was exemplary, a quick Skype session and we were back on track.
Now that we have changed status from ‘development’ to ‘maintenance’, one might fear being given lower priority. It’s far from what we see, there’s still focus and interest for us as customer and our site is constantly being optimized, bugs removed and new features implemented continuously as per our request.
I’m very satisfied with the cooperation and grateful for Srijan's hard work throughout the process.
